Correctional Facility

The Van Zandt County Detention Center is a division of the Sheriff's office and is charged with the care, custody, and control of all county prisoners. This facility will house a maximum of 192 offenders. The detention staff is certified and monitored by the State of Texas. We, as members of the Van Zandt County Sheriff's Office are proud to serve the citizens of Van Zandt County. Visitation Information:
  Inmate Visitation Schedule
  Male Inmates:  
Sunday 9:00am - 11:00am, Thursday 6:00pm - 8:00pm
  Female Inmates:  
Saturday 9:00am - 11:00am, Tuesday 6:00pm - 8:00pm

All visitors must be on the inmates visitation list and present a valid state picture identification card, or Drivers License.

Inmates are only allowed two (2) twenty (20) minute visits per week and a maximum of two visitors per visit.

Inmates are allowed only one visit per visitation day.

Only the inmates immediate family is allowed to visit at regular visitation times.

All minor children (under 17 years of age) may only visit on weekends and must be accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or legal counsel.

No contact visits are permitted.

No adult visitors will be allowed to visit wearing shorts, low cut blouses, sleeveless shirt/top, or any dress above the knee. Midriffs are to be covered.

Tops or shirts with any vulgar or indecent language or signs will not be allowed.

All visitors must wear some type of proper footwear.

Visitors are not allowed to carry anything into the visitation area.

All visitors and inmates will observe all Van Zandt County Detention Center rules and lawful order given by Detention Personnel. If any inmate or visitor refuses to comply with a rule or lawful order the visit may be terminated.

Any request for special visit (anything outside these posted rules) will need to be addressed to the Jail Administrators Office for a decision.

Monies for an inmate must be in money order or cashiers check form only and must be recieved by Friday at 5pm for the inmate to have access to it the next week.

No mail will be forwarded but will be reutrned to the sender if the inmate has left this facility.

Any books, newspapers, or magizines must come from the publisher only and must be paperback only.

We will no longer accept personal items for inmates except prescription eyeglasses with the approval of the Jail Administrator.
